Donate Miles and Help Heal a Child

New Milford, Ct  October 11, 2006- A very simple way you can make a real difference and drastically help improve and even save a child's life is by donating your airline miles. Healing the Children Northeast, Inc., a New Milford, Connecticut based non-profit arranges donated medical services for children in need. Our International Inbound Program arranges for children from other countries to travel to the United States to receive donated medical care.

Some of our children require multiple surgeries, spaced out over a few months or years. Since the airlines have been having problems, including major cutbacks, they have discontinued their donation programs. This has been a huge setback for our International Inbound program, and will affect the lives of countless children.

A wonderful way that people can help Healing the Children Northeast, Inc. is by donating their airline miles in order for us to purchase tickets for children flying to the U.S. from other countries. We do not have an actual program where we can collect those miles, unfortunately, so anyone who is interested in donating would have to be willing to coordinate the dates with us.

During the fall of 2006 and into the winter of 2007, alone, there will be more than 10 children that will need miles donated in order for them to return to the U.S. for their continued treatment. Many of these children are victims of fire, and require grafting and multiple surgeries. Our children with orthopedic needs are also in need of follow-up care, due to the extensive surgeries they require. All medical services are provided free of charge, and it is sadly the lack of donated flights that stand in the way of assisting these children.

Please consider helping a child by donating your airline miles - Any airline will do!

Individuals that are able to donate their miles would automatically be considered an ambassador to our program, allowing free attendance at all of our events.

Requirements: All we require is a willingness to help a child through a donation of airline miles and your assistance and flexibility with coordinating those flights.
