Did you know that we bring our own supplies on each of our Medical Trips Abroad? Many of these are disposable and so they must constantly be replaced. We have created a wish list for you so that you can directly purchase supplies for us. Visit https://www.giveinkind.com/inkinds/healing-the-children-northeast to view our needs and make a donation.

The January Newsletter contains an interview with Bob Ryan, the President of our Board of Directors. Bob not only serves as Board President, but is also a team member for some of our Medical Trips Abroad. Bob is a great photographer and captures many highlights of his trips abroad.
Our December Newsletter contains our Year In Review. It also contains an interview with Dr. Abraham, who will be leading a team to India this January, and a video about our November trip to Santa Marta, Colombia.
A magazine article to share with you! This article, written by journalist Bruce McInnes, was published in Onyx Magazine (a German magazine). It is about our trip to the Amazon villages in Peru back in 2015. This was a dental mission led by Dr. Greg Keiser. The article really gives you a look into the wonderful work of Healing The Children Northeast and the incredible volunteers who are so dedicated to our mission! To read the entire article visit our Facebook Page.
A beautiful video created by a Speech Team member who was on our recent trip to Santa Marta, Colombia. We'd like to share her story with you, enjoy! And, stay tuned.....more to come!
Communication Disorders Professors Dr. Helen Buhler and Dr. Shari Berkowitz, with graduate students Bruna Carbelim and Jeanette Torres, recently returned from our trip to Santa Marta, Colombia. Read more: https://www.mercy.edu/newsroom/mercy-college%E2%80%99s-communication-dis...
Shari also wrote about her experiences on her blog: https://mercycd.wordpress.com/
Here is an excerpt from her blog:
"The president of HTCNE is Bob Ryan, who joined in on this and many other trips. Bob is an attorney, a devoted board member and an avid golfer. To make a very long story short, Bob connected with Henry Schein Cares Foundation http://www.hscaresfoundation.org/us-en/sites/HSCaresFoundation/index.asp, and they generously sponsored $10,000 of medical equipment for this trip. Our Queen of Nurses (ok, that SHOULD be her title, anyway) Debbie Fritz was able to “go shopping” for what we needed in the Henry Schein Medical catalog to spend the money–what an amazing gift!
Below, I’ve included the HSCF mission statement. It aligns so well with what we do–let’s hope this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship! Thanks to HSCF for “helping health happen” this week in Colombia.
The Henry Schein Cares Foundation “helps health happen” by expanding access to care for at-risk and underserved populations globally through the support of not-for-profit organizations, institutions, and communities dedicated to increasing the delivery of health education and care. The work of the Henry Schein Cares Foundation targets those with some of the most limited access to care through a focus on three areas: wellness, prevention, and treatment; emergency preparedness and relief; and capacity building."
