| Who We Are |
| Healing the Children Northeast, Inc. is a non-profit, non-partisan, volunteer organization with a 501(c)(3) I.R.S. tax exemption. Our purpose is to help children throughout the world receive medical care unavailable to them due to a lack of medical and financial resources or health insurance. We are a non-profit volunteer organization, dedicated to providing donated medical care to children in need. Our thirteen chapters across the U.S. work co-operatively to provide these services worldwide. To date, over 75,000 patients have been helped through our efforts. |
| Children are provided these services through three basic programs: |
| |
Medical Teams Abroad Program
Via the Medical Teams Abroad Program (MTAP), Healing the Children Northeast, Inc., provides medical and surgical treatment to needy children all over the world. As a part of our program, we assemble volunteer teams of medical, surgical, and healthcare professionals. |
| |
International Inbound Program
Our International Inbound Program provides the opportunity for children from different countries to come to the United States where they are matched up with specialized medical and surgical treatment. |
| |
Hosting A Child
Host families are an integral part of the process of healing a child. It is because of these generous families that our program is able to accomplish so much. In general, a typical stay for a child and their parent will last from a few weeks to about 2 or 3 months, depending on the treatment plan. We have many host family opportunities within the Northeast. |
| |
Domestic Kids Program
Healing the Children, Northeast’s Domestic Program provides medical treatment and assistance to children in our local communities who are otherwise unable to obtain these services on their own due to a lack of financial resources. |
